Jean S. Kessler had this to say about my site

"Diane Carbo has her heart in advocacy. When I contacted her with my situation, she had immediate compassion and researched various avenues for me to pursue as regards my father's care. There are few signposts along the road for caregivers to follow, but Diane is a trailblazer. I recommend her insights highly."

Remaining in your home by choice, also known as ‘Aging in Place’ or ‘Life Care at Home’, is growing in popularity for obvious reasons. The goal of home health care is to allow older adults to receive the custom care they need in the setting of their choice. The aging adult is allowed to live in the least restrictive way in their own home instead of a nursing home or other institutional setting.

People are living longer and healthier lives. There are 75 million Baby Boomers entering into their golden years. A person who is 65 today can look forward to another 20 plus years. And, according to AARP, there are now 22 million senior homeowners (65 years or older) in the US. Eighty-five percent of them want to stay in their homes and communities for the balance of their remaining years. Sixty-eight percent of Americans over age 65 will require some form of long-term care. Life care at home will be the best answer for many of these seniors.

No one anticipates becoming ill or incapacitated but it is only wise to be prepared for such an event. You may find yourself asking:

“What will I do if I become ill and need outside care?”
“Who exactly will give me the care I need?”
“How will I pay for this care?”
“Will Medicare and Medicaid help me with my expenses?”
“Are there private insurance plans that can help me?”
“Can I safely use the equity in my home to help pay the costs?”
These are necessary questions to ask and to get professional answers to so you can intelligently plan for such care if needed. This website is dedicated to providing you answers to these questions and many more.

Our goal is to guide you gently through the process so you can live confidently at home for as long as possible.
