Dementia Care at Home

by Laura
(TN)

I am member of the Alzheimer's group on yahoo. My mom has dementia and I take of her in my home. What state are you in?
Could you enlighten me with your experience how many children take care of their parents or aunt n uncle in their home?

The only support I have are from the yahoo groups.

Laura,

Thank you for this question, it is very timely. I have begun to focus on Alzheimer's and Dementia this year and will expand my site on dementia care at home.

I am a registered nurse living outside of Philadelphia. I see you are in Tennessee. I worked for many years in Memphis.

Back to your question,in your experience how many children take care of their parents or aunt or uncle in their home?
This link will provide you with that answer.

I think you will find that there are many providing care at home.

In response to the only support I have are from the yahoo groups It is my goal over the next year, to educate, support and provide a place for caregivers to come and share and exchange ideas and experiences.
I have started that process by developing the Ask One Answer One Page

There will soon be an addition in the next few days of a dementia communication/ resource/support forum as well.

Thank you, Laura, for you question. Please feel free to post your questions. I am here for you.
