Restless Leg Syndrome Sleep Disorder
This Sleep Disorder Causes
Disruption in the Sleep and Aging Process

Restless leg syndrome sleep disorder is a sleep and movement disorder. This sleep disorder causes disruption in the sleep and aging process, resulting in fragmented and poor sleep, depression and anxiety.

Restless leg syndrome sleeping disorder is a condition that can occur in infants as well as aging adults. In fact, research has shown that the signs and symptoms of restless leg sleep disorder often go undiagnosed for many years. This sleep and movement disorder is often misdiagnosed as muscle cramps, arthritis, stress and insomnia.

What are the symptoms of this disorder

This sleep and movement disorder causes strange sensations in the arms or legs. This sensation of pins and needles causes the urge to move. This urge to move and the sensations become worse at rest or during inactivity. There is a brief moment of relief from the sensations and urge to move by the movement itself. There is an increase in these sensations and urge to move at night. Over time these sensations lead to discomfort when walking, jerking movements when sleeping, that cause fragmented sleep, and stress.

Research has found that although there is no know cause of restless leg syndrome sleep disorder, it is found to be a hereditary condition. That means, if a family member, a parent or brother or sister has the condition, it may mean you have the disorder as well.

Restless leg syndrome sleep disorder is generally a progressive condition that worsens over time. If this sleep and movement disorder is caused by another medical condition, treating that condition can decrease the signs and symptoms that this sleep disorder causes.

Many that suffer from this sleep disorder do not seek help until their quality of life is compromised. The results of broken and fragmented sleep affects the quality of life you experience. Poor sleep causes many to feel depressed and anxious, have poor concentration and impaired memory.
